FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Dax started trading on Wednesday with little change. After a series of gains and a small loss the day before, the leading German index rose 0.02 percent to 18,360.95 points. There is a lack of directional impetus from the US banks and companies. The data calendar is also thin again, so that at best, speeches by US central bankers could attract interest during the course of the day, provided they deliver assessments on the economy, inflation and interest rates.
In the evening, the Fed’s meeting minutes from the end of July are on the agenda. “At the time, the meeting had contributed to increased expectations of interest rate cuts because reference was made not only to inflation risks, but also to the risks for the labor market,” the experts at Landesbank Helaba recalled.
