What Orla Mining Ltd.’s (TSE:OLA) 29% Share Price Gain Is Not Telling You

Date:

Orla Mining Ltd. (TSE:OLA) shareholders would be excited to see that the share price has had a great month, posting a 29% gain and recovering from prior weakness. The annual gain comes to 212% following the latest surge, making investors sit up and take notice.

After such a large jump in price, Orla Mining may be sending sell signals at present with a price-to-sales (or “P/S”) ratio of 7x, when you consider almost half of the companies in the Metals and Mining industry in Canada have P/S ratios under 5x and even P/S lower than 2x aren’t out of the ordinary. However, the P/S might be high for a reason and it requires further investigation to determine if it’s justified.
