Polish coal company Węglokoks has signed an agreement with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management of Poland to borrow PLN 50 million from the National Recovery Plan. The funds will be used to build a solar power plant with energy storage on the territory of the Huta Pokój steel plant in Ruda Śląska, Strefa Biznesu reports.
According to Węglokoks spokesman Michal Lyczak, the investment is aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption from traditional sources. The new plant will be used to partially meet the energy needs of the companies belonging to the Węglokoks group. Details of the project will be disclosed later.
