Last Thursday, 10Y closed at low yield of 4.29% and it hovers around 4.30% Wednesday morning, after bouncing around between 4.33-4.35% in between. 2/10Y and 2/30Y curves steady around +55, +116 bps respectively. Same can be said for stocks, oil, gold, Vix. Market waiting for Fed Powell’s speech at Jackson Hole on Friday. Could be a bust however if he opts to keep thoughts close to vest awaiting more data before Sept 17 FOMC. PCE comes out 8/29 followed by employment 9/5, PPI 9/10 and CPI 9/11. Minutes of July 30 Fed meeting out this afternoon where Fed Gov Waller and Gov Bowman dissented as wanted immediate rate cut. Biggest event today could be $16B auction of new 20Y bonds.The last time a new 20Y security sold in May it was sloppy and demand was on weak side even though it was awarded at 5.04%.
