US Tsy prices slightly better in early NY trading Monday. 10Y hovers around 4.13% vs 4.14% at 15:00ET marks Friday and it did test 4.15% in overseas trade Mon. Front end bolstered by hopes of more rate cuts while longer end weighed down by inflation, stagflation worry. Consensus seems to be for neutrality, caution to see how data evolves. Data calendar light this week but weekly jobless claims on Thursdays have taken on added import and this Friday’s PCE inflation is report Fed favors. Lots of Fedspeak ahead. Gov Miran gives luncheon address on economic outlook at Eco Club of NY Monday. On Tuesday, Fed Chair Powell also speaks on economic outlook at noon in Rhode Island. Senate was unable to pass stopgap spending bill last Friday so this will be watched. Treasury will auction $59B new 2s, $70B new 5s and $44B new 7s this week. UN General Assembly begins tomorrow and Pres Trump scheduled to attend.
