Shares of popular exchange-traded funds that provide broad exposure to the U.S. bond market were gaining Wednesday.
The iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF and Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF were each rising 0.4% in afternoon trading, according to FactSet data, at last check. Both funds are up so far in September, with each posting a total return of 0.8% on Wednesday afternoon.
The ETFs hold investment-grade bonds in the U.S., including Treasurys, corporate debt and mortgage-backed securities.
