Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in London, the fell 0.10%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Carnival PLC (LON:), which rose 2.21% or 28.50 points to trade at 1,317.50 at the close. Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC (LON:) added 1.30% or 10.40 points to end at 808.40 and BHP Group PLC (LON:) was up 0.90% or 24.00 points to 2,698.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included BT Group PLC (LON:), which lost 2.50% or 3.15 points to trade at 122.95 in late trade. Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:) declined 1.53% or 215.00 points to end at 13,840.00 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:) shed 1.11% or 6.60 points to 590.20.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 829 to 772 and 506 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
