Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in London, the declined 0.27%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Carnival PLC (LON:), which rose 3.46% or 46.00 points to trade at 1,377.00 at the close. Vodafone Group PLC (LON:) added 2.25% or 1.52 points to end at 69.00 and EasyJet PLC (LON:) was up 1.77% or 9.00 points to 517.20 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Burberry Group PLC (LON:), which lost 4.19% or 62.50 points to trade at 1,429.00 in late trade. Ocado Group PLC (LON:) declined 4.03% or 31.80 points to end at 757.20 and United Utilities Group PLC (LON:) shed 2.95% or 32.50 points to 1,068.00.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 985 to 664 and 480 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
