TSX Composite starts lower; shares mixed at market open By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canadian equities started mixed on Thursday. Indices of Capped Consumer Staples, Capped Materials and Capped Real Estate were the top losers.

At the market open in Toronto, the fell 0.31%. The and the were mixed. The TSX Venture rose 0.07%, while the Smallcap was down by 0.25%.

Top Gainers:

  • MDA (TSX:): Climbed 3.90% or 0.69 points to 18.39.
  • South Bow (TSX:): Increased 2.87% or 0.84 points to 30.09.
  • Lundin Gold Inc (TSX:): Rose 1.66% or 0.49 points to 30.08.

Top Losers:

  • Novagold (TSX:): Dropped 8.85% or 0.50 points to 5.15.
  • Equinox Gold (TSX:): Fell 4.69% or 0.39 points to 7.93.
  • Ero Copper (TSX:): Declined 3.39% or 1.02 points to 29.11.

In Commodities Trading:

  • December Contract climbed by 2.58% or 1.91 points to 75.81 a barrel.
  • for November delivery rose 1.96 points to 72.06 a barrel.
  • for December delivery dropped 2.40 points to 2,667.30 a troy ounce.
