TSX Composite higher today; miners rose at market open By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canadian equities started mixed on Tuesday. The top risers were Capped Energy, Capped Materials and Renewable Energy and Clean Technology indices. Capped Communication Services, Capped Information Technology and Capped Consumer Staples were the top losers.

At the market open in Toronto, the rose 0.30%. The and the were also up. The TSX Venture climbed 0.65%, while the Smallcap was up by 0.88%.

Top Gainers:

HudBay Minerals (TSX:): Rose 6.12% or 0.67 points to 11.62.

Capstone Mining (TSX:): Climbed 5.51% or 0.54 points to 10.34.

Lundin Mining (TSX:): Increased 5.42% or 0.720 points to 14.000.

Top Losers:

Storage Vault (TSX:): Declined 1.59% or 0.08 points to 4.94.

Pet Valu Holdings (TSX:): Dropped 0.95% or 0.25 points to 26.01.

Bird Construction (TSX:): Fell 0.87% or 0.20 points to 22.70.
