TSX Composite down; shares declined at market open

Investing.com – Canadian equities started with loses on Tuesday, with falls nearly in all sectors, the most notable ones being the Communication Services, Industrials, Information Technology and Renewable Energy and Clean Technology sectors.

At the market open in Toronto, the TSX Composite Index fell 0.32%. The TSX Venture and the TSX Smallcap also declined. The TSX Venture dropped by 0.37%, while the Smallcap went down by 0.22%.

Top Gainers:

  • Maple Leaf Foods (TSX:MFI): Climbed 5.66% or 1.27 points to 23.72
  • Altus Group (TSX:AIF): Rose 2.96% or 1.55 points to 53.90
  • Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN): Increased 2.43% or 0.45 points to 19.00

Top Losers:

  • Intl Petroleum (TSX:IPCO): Dropped 2.60% or 0.51 points to 19.13
  • Gfl Environmental (TSX:GFL): Fell 2.14% or 1.15 points to 52.53
