Tribe’s Aiden Bond Qualifies for U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials

WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary swimmer Aiden Bond capped off his phenomenal freshman season as he qualified for U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 50m Free. He posted a lifetime best 22.60 time in at the Eastern Zone Super Sectional in Richmond on Saturday for an Olympic Trial-qualifying mark.

Olympic Trials will take place on June 15-23 in Indianapolis, Indiana, with the men’s 50 Free scheduled for Thursday, June 20. The competition pool is being constructed in Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.

During the season, Bond capped his impressive first year in Green & Gold with an outstanding performance at the CAA Championships, taking home three medals in the 50 Free, 100 Free and 200 Free and setting a pair of freshman records. He continues to build on his best times in the off-season.
