The all items CPI figures were down in March, posting a 2.4 percent year-over-year increase compared to the 2.8 percent recorded in February. On a monthly basis, all items CPI rose just 0.1 percent, in contrast to the 0.2 percent of the month before. The largest contributor to the easing figures was a 3.3 percent year-over-year decline in energy prices, with gasoline leading the way, falling 9.8 percent.
