Tesla’s (TSLA) electric vehicle sales in Italy saw a strong rebound in March as new car registrations jumped 51% year-over-year to 2,217 units, according to data from the Italian Transport Ministry. This surge followed a sharp 54% decline in February. Nevertheless, Tesla’s Italian sales for the first quarter as a whole were still down 7% compared to last year, with a total of 3,469 new registrations. The quarterly dip adds to concerns that some drivers may be turning away from Tesla due to rising competition from Chinese EV brands and partly as a response to CEO Elon Musk’s political involvement.
