On September 28, at 1:00 AM EST, the Marshall Islands-registered “Carrera” roll-on/roll-off ship docked at the Shanghai South Port terminal. After completing border inspection procedures, 1,649 Tesla (TSLA, Financial) vehicles began the loading process.
By 1:30 AM EST, border inspection officers boarded the “Carrera” to handle entry procedures. According to Tesla (TSLA, Financial), the export of this batch pushed the total number of China-manufactured Tesla electric vehicles exported beyond one million units. At 11:00 AM EST, Tesla celebrated this milestone by arranging a “1M” formation with Model 3s beside the “Carrera”.
The Yangshan border inspection station at Shanghai South Port, where Tesla (TSLA, Financial) vehicles are exported, operates 24/7 year-round to ensure quick inspection and efficient loading and unloading services, supporting China’s manufacturing reach globally.
