The Dow rose 83.57 points, or 0.2%, to end at 42,208.22. The blue-chip index was up for the fourth consecutive trading day, while posting its 31st all-time closing high of the year, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
The S&P 500 added 14.36 points, or less than 0.3%, to finish at 5,732.93, a new closing high. It was the 41st record close for the large-cap benchmark index so far in 2024.
The Nasdaq Composite advanced 100.25 points, or 0.6%, ending at 18,074.52.
