Re “A big change is coming to your SDG&E bill. Will you pay more or less? It depends” (Aug. 24): The new SDG&E bill structure specifically disadvantages those with home solar generators who take little or nothing from SDG&E’s grid. They will pay the new high fixed charge but will get no benefit from the lower cost per kilowatt-hour. I thought California was all in for encouraging renewable energy, but this is another testament to the state Public Utilities Commission and government siding with the utility companies, and not the people.
