Once again it is the time of year to check all of the ways one might save on one’s tax bill. If you have been thinking about installing solar panels but have not taken the next steps, this is a great time to do it. Federal tax credits of up to 30% of the cost of solar installation on your home can be claimed the year the solar system is installed and operational. If your tax liability is smaller than 30% of the total eligible installation cost, the balance can be rolled over to use in a following tax year.
