Shanghai Stock Exchange Announces Lunar Holiday Break

Date:

The Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) has announced its closure in observance of the Chinese New Year (CNY) festivities, with trading halted from Jan 28 (Tuesday) to Feb 4 (Tuesday). Additionally, the exchange will also be closed on Jan 26 (Sunday) and Feb 8 (Saturday), marking an extended holiday period for market participants.

The break comes as China celebrates the Chinese New Year, one of the most significant cultural holidays in the country, during which markets typically experience reduced activity. Trading will resume on Feb 5 (Wednesday), following the end of the holiday period.

Investors and traders are advised to adjust their schedules accordingly and to prepare for the upcoming market conditions post-holiday.
