Rustic Root brings a new dining destination to Solana Beach – San Diego Union-Tribune

The new Rustic Root restaurant and bar has arrived on the beach. The sister of the downtown Gaslamp location is in Solana Beach’s Sandbox building on Coast Highway 101 and is now serving up new American cuisine for dinner, weekend brunches and happy hours, and a slice of high energy nightlife with DJs and live music entertainment.

Following a grand opening party and ribbon cutting on Jan. 31, the place has been popular.

“We’ve been sold out every night that we’ve opened,” said Michael Georgopoulos, owner and partner of RMD Group.  “All during construction people were banging on the door saying ‘We live around the corner, we’re going to be here all the time’.”

Since opening they have welcomed guests from all over North County who want to check out a closer Rustic Root location but the core customers have been the locals, some who walk or bike in, some who have already been in multiple times. When they open at 5…
