Rogers becomes majority owner of MLSE

There was a blockbuster transaction in the sports business industry in Canada on Wednesday. In a massive announcement, Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment has been sold from Bell Communication to Rogers Communications for a staggering $4.7 billion.

MLSE owns several sports organizations in Toronto. They include the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League, the Toronto Raptors of the National Basketball Association, the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, Toronto FC of Major League Soccer, Raptors 905 of the NBA G League, Raptors Uprising GC of the NBA 2K League (Esports League), Toronto FC II of the Major League Soccer Next Pro League, Toronto FC Academy of the MLS Next (Youth Soccer League), and Toronto FC eSports (eMLS Cup).
