Residents protest “deceitful” solar farm proposal at local meeting

“It seems very deceitful.” That is how local residents say they feel at a meeting about a solar company allegedly looking to establish a solar farm in their community. They came together in Clearfield county Friday, following a recently discovered proposal of a “large scale” solar farm in its planning stages.

They say the project is being proposed by ‘Swift Current Energy.’ Organizers say this gathering at the Leconte Mills Fire Hall in Girard Township is aimed at figuring out a plan of action against the move, reportedly sparked by federal funding.

Residents tell me they only found out about the project plans recently. They say they didn’t know about plans for the solar farm allegedly beginning 2 years ago.
