Region’s first clean energy-specific job fair comes to Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – According to the U.S. Department of Energy, there are approximately 5,500 clean energy jobs available in Northern Illinois.

The job fair, hosted by the Northern Illinois Climate and Equitable Jobs Hub, took place from 1-4 p.m. April 17 at the UW Health Sports Factory in Rockford.

Attendees learned about jobs in construction, solar and wind sectors. The event also included opportunities to connect with employers and explore hands-on exhibits in construction, CNC machining and solar installation.

CEJA partners include Awaken Foundation, Goodwill Industries of Northern Illinois, Region 1 Planning Council, Rock Valley College, The Workforce Connection and Zion West Enterprises.
