Public input requested for TVA’s proposed solar project in Colbert County

TVA seeks public input on the Spring Valley Solar Project’s draft EA, with a meeting on July 15, 2025.

TUSCUMBIA, Ala. — The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is seeking public feedback on the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for its proposed Spring Valley Solar Project in Colbert County. The project, located along U.S. Highway 43, is part of TVA’s effort to increase renewable energy generation in the region.

TVA has entered into a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Spring Valley, LLC, a subsidiary of Urban Grid, to buy the power generated by the proposed solar facility. The draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) presents two options:

  • No Action Alternative: TVA would not purchase power from the project and would not be involved in its development.
