Price fall in large-cap drives stocks further down
DHAKA, March 18, 2024 (BSS) – Country’s both the bourses– Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) – today plunged due to mainly price fall in large-cap securities.
DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went down by 69.81 points or 1.17 percent to 5,898.24. Two other indices also ended sharply lower with the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, plunged 8.96 points to finish at 2,042.62 and the DSE Shariah Index (DSES) lost 13.55 points to close at 1,286.25.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, decreased to Taka 4,866.73 million, which was Taka 5,146.37 million at the previous session of the week.
Out of 396 issues traded, 330 declined, 34 advanced and 32 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
GOLDENSON topped the turnover chart, followed by FUWANGCER, GHAIL, LOVELLO and Central PHL.
