As of 3:30 p.m., the outages were impacting large swaths of Petaluma and west Sonoma County.
Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers across Sonoma County are without power Saturday morning, according to the utility company’s website.
As of 3:22 p.m., the company reported a total of 96 outages impacting 4,901 customers in the county.
In Petaluma, approximately 2,928 customers were affected by the power failures. Hundreds of customers in west Sonoma County and along the coast were also without power.
Many other communities like Santa Rosa, Cotati and Penngrove are also experiencing outages. However, the impacts seem to be less significant.
Rohnert Park also had major outages in the city beginning at 7 a.m. and reported 4,493 customers in the city without power. Power to the city has mostly been restored, though, according to PG&E’s power outage map.
