Newstead powers towards 100% renewables with 3 MW solar farm – pv magazine Australia

The central Victorian community of Newstead is one step closer to seeing its solar farm dream realised with gen-tailer Flow Power announcing that it has reached mechanical completion of a 3 MW PV power plant that will generate clean energy to supply the local community,

Melbourne-based energy retailer Flow Power said the Newstead Energy Project being developed in regional Victoria is progressing towards operational status with the 3 MW solar farm having achieved mechanical completion.

The project, comprising 4,320 solar panels spread across a 6.2-hectare site about 3 kilometres from Newstead, 140 kilometres northwest of Melbourne, will also include a 5 MWh battery energy storage system that Flow Power said will include a “Victorian-first” DC-coupled system.
