Nasdaq jumps 219 points following huge September jobs report

All three of the major indexes (^DJI,^GSPC, ^IXIC) closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 341 points and the Nasdaq Composite up 219 points. Stocks got a big boost after the September employment report showed the US added 254,000 jobs during the month, far more than the Bloomberg consensus estimate of 150,000. The unemployment rate also ticked lower to 4.1%.
