Mining association applauds budget’s critical minerals push, says more needed to drive investment

Canada’s 2025 federal budget is being called a breakthrough moment for the country’s mining industry. With billions in new funding for critical minerals, extended tax credits, and a move to lift the proposed emissions cap, Ottawa says it’s backing resource growth and global competitiveness.

But is it enough to spark real investment and faster project development? We speak to Pierre Gratton, president and CEO of the Mining Association of Canada.
