A new study by Texas Tech University has raised concerns about the environmental impact of lithium-ion batteries, highlighting their role in the rising Pollution levels of per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in both air and water. The focus of the study was on a specific subclass of PFAS known as bis-perfluoroalkyl sulfonimides (bis-FASIs), which are used in the production of lithium-ion batteries.
