The European Commission is launching the EU Energy & Raw Materials Platform to support European industry in sourcing energy products and raw materials.
The Platform is a new initiative developed for European companies, which aims to leverage the size and power of the Union market towards more competitiveness for Europe’s industry, security of supply, diversification and decarbonisation. It will host different mechanisms covering hydrogen, raw materials, natural gas and biomethane. Other products may follow in the future.
The Hydrogen Mechanism comes first and opens for registrations in on 2nd of July. The first round of matching demand and supply is planned for September 2025. It will accelerate hydrogen market creation by linking buyers and sellers, informing infrastructure development and facilitating access to financing.
