IT and real estate stocks drag Sri Lankan shares lower — TradingView News

Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Wednesday, dragged by information technology and real estate stocks.

* The CSE All-Share index ASI settled 0.38% lower at 15,847.80 points.

* Sri Lanka’s central bank kept key policy rate unchanged for a second consecutive meeting, on Wednesday.

* Swadeshi Industrial SWAD.N0000 and Serendib Land SLND.N0000 were the top losers by index points, down 900 points and 176.5 points, respectively.

* Trading volume on the index rose to 88.14 million shares from 78.45 million shares in the previous session.

* The equity market’s turnover dipped to 1.64 billion Sri Lankan rupees from 2.90 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

* Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 143.1 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 1.62 billion rupees, the data showed.
