A group of Petaluma High School students’ interest in cryptocurrency led to a $5,000 donation to the Petaluma Health Center earlier this month.

A group of Petaluma High School students’ interest in cryptocurrency led to a $5,000 donation to the Petaluma Health Center earlier this month, with the money intended to support mental health services.

Members of Petaluma High School’s Cryptocurrency Club – led by club founder and president Jack Pattison – presented the $5,000 donation to Petaluma Health interim CEO Pedro Toledo and six staff members on Nov. 6.

The donation will go toward the Health Center’s behavioral health services department, which provides counseling, group therapy and psychiatric services for mental health concerns, Toledo said.
