Frankfurt stock market opening: Dax starts with little change after previous day’s record

FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – After its record high of 24,300 points the previous day, the DAX did not set any new records on Wednesday. However, the German benchmark index regained some of the points it had lost on Tuesday following the record high in early trading.

In the first few minutes of trading, the DAX rose by 0.1 percent to 24,253 points. Its year-to-date gain is now around 22 percent. The MDAX remained virtually unchanged at 30,640 points. The index of medium-sized companies had reached a three-year high of 30,691 points the previous day.

The Eurozone’s leading index, the EuroStoxx 50, was up just under 0.1 percent./ag/zb
