Authorities and a nonprofit are making sure you don’t fall victim to cryptocurrency scams.AARP said scammers usually target senior citizens, so the organization partnered with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to explain to AARP members and community volunteers how cryptocurrency works and how to spot a scam.Officials said these types of meetings are needed.”I think today was about educating our volunteers about this scam and then giving them the power to go out and help their friends to recognize this,” said AARP Nebraska state director Todd Stubbendick.Scammers have been known to pressure people to act immediately.
