Jefferies has noted a strong market response to Xiaomi’s (XIACY) new electric SUV, which is reportedly seeing robust sales despite its slightly higher price point. The vehicle, named YU7, is positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla’s (TSLA, Financial) Model Y. According to analyst Edison Lee, the YU7 is priced just under the Model Y but promises enhanced specifications and performance capabilities. Jefferies anticipates that this could enable the YU7 to capture a significant share of the market from the Model Y, which saw 480,000 units sold in China last year. The firm maintains a Buy rating on Xiaomi, setting a price target of HK$73.
