Officials say the nearly $50 million facility will turn methane gas into natural gas that can be used to fuel homes and businesses.
TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple has a new facility, and with it, possibly a new source of energy.
On Thursday, May 8, the City cut the ribbon on the new Temple Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Facility. The facility is located at the Temple Landfill, and is reportedly owned by the City and operated by Waste Management.
Waste Management officials say the nearly $50 million facility will convert collected landfill gas to lower-emission renewable natural gas, which can then be used to power communities and businesses in the area.
