In Europe and the US, wind turbine manufacturers have pulled the brakes and slowed development of increasingly large wind turbines as a part of efforts to ease strained supply chains and improve profitability.
However, despite fierce domestic price competition, Chinese competitors have remained steadfast in their ambitions and continued their rapid development towards larger and larger turbines.
On Wednesday, Chinese manufacturer Sany presented equipment that will make it possible to test a wind turbine with a capacity of up to 35 MW, according to Recharge News.
Sany announced on Wednesday that it has commissioned the world’s largest testing facility used to examine the performance of various components and systems under controlled conditions. Such testing can reportedly simulate the full lifecycle of wind turbines with a capacity of up to 35 MW.
