Canopy USA taps cannabis industry veteran as president

Canopy USA has chosen longtime cannabis industry veteran Brooks Jorgensen, a former Kiva executive and liquor industry insider, to run the venture as its president.

The United States wing of Canada-based Canopy Growth Corp. (TSX: WEED) (Nasdaq: CGC), Canopy USA owns a small portfolio of marijuana brands already, including edibles maker Wana Brands, California extract producer Jetty and multistate operator Acreage Holdings (CSE: ACRG.A.U) (OTCQX: ACRHF), with the acquisitions of Wana and Acreage just fully closing within the past few months.

The installation of a leader for the new Canopy division was one of the only missing pieces for the company’s cross-border expansion.
