Cannabis Stocks Soar in August with Significant Gains in the Market

Cannabis stocks from the Global Cannabis Stock Index surged 116.4% in August, rising from 6.97 to 15.08 points. Year-to-date, the index shows an increase of 80.4%, compared to 8.36 points at the beginning of the year. The strongest performer of the month was Verano Holdings (OTC: VRNOF | CSE: VRNO), skyrocketing by 200.3%. On the other hand, the weakest performer was Jushi Holdings (OTC: JUSHF | CSE: JUSH), with a 34.3% increase.

In September, the index will welcome two new members: Ascend Holdings (OTC: AAWH | CSE: AAWH.U) and Planet 13 (OTC: PLNH | CSE: PLTH).

 

Cannabis Ancillary Index Grows by 21.9%

 

Cannabis ancillary assets saw a 21.9% increase in August, with the index rising from 11.02 to 13.43 points. However, the year-to-date change shows a decrease of 2.5%, dropping from 13.77 to current levels.

Highlights include:

– GrowGeneration (NASDAQ: GRWG) was the strongest performer, rising by 81.8%;
