Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the declined 0.83% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the were MDA Ltd (TSX:), which rose 4.66% or 0.56 points to trade at 12.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Enghouse Systems Ltd (TSX:) added 4.66% or 1.36 points to end at 30.54 and Cargojet Inc (TSX:) was up 1.89% or 2.20 points to 118.52 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX:), which fell 6.14% or 0.71 points to trade at 10.85 at the close. NexGen Energy Ltd. (TSX:) declined 5.46% or 0.53 points to end at 9.17 and Cameco Corp (TSX:) was down 5.29% or 3.90 points to 69.87.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 660 to 289 and 99 ended unchanged.
