Investing.com – Canada stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the lost 0.38%.

The best performers of the session on the were Maple Leaf Foods Inc . (TSX:), which rose 8.69% or 1.95 points to trade at 24.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Altus Group Limited (TSX:) added 5.94% or 3.11 points to end at 55.46 and Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:) was up 2.72% or 0.22 points to 8.31 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Badger Infrastructure Solutions Ltd (TSX:), which fell 6.47% or 2.57 points to trade at 37.15 at the close. Birchcliff Energy Ltd . (TSX:) declined 3.96% or 0.25 points to end at 6.07 and Aya Gold & Inc (TSX:) was down 3.70% or 0.54 points to 14.07.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 521 to 401 and 114 ended unchanged.
