Canada stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.76% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the added 0.76%.

The best performers of the session on the were BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:), which rose 23.13% or 0.99 points to trade at 5.27 at the close. Meanwhile, First Quantum Minerals Ltd . (TSX:) added 8.04% or 1.40 points to end at 18.81 and Tilray Inc (TSX:) was up 6.59% or 0.11 points to 1.78 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Aya Gold & Silver Inc (TSX:), which fell 3.73% or 0.42 points to trade at 10.84 at the close. TFI International Inc (TSX:) declined 2.72% or 5.57 points to end at 198.94 and Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:) was down 2.18% or 0.17 points to 7.63.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 629 to 295 and 94 ended unchanged.

Shares in BlackBerry Ltd (TSX:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 23.13% or 0.99 to 5.27.
