Canada stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.57% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the added 0.57% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the were Bausch Health Companies Inc (TSX:), which rose 10.58% or 0.91 points to trade at 9.51 at the close. Meanwhile, B2Gold Corp (TSX:) added 5.10% or 0.22 points to end at 4.53 and Air Canada (TSX:) was up 3.47% or 0.55 points to 16.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX:), which fell 7.00% or 0.17 points to trade at 2.26 at the close. NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:) declined 4.09% or 0.25 points to end at 5.86 and Kinross Gold Corporation (TSX:) was down 3.74% or 0.50 points to 12.86.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 540 to 390 and 107 ended unchanged.
