Canada stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.38% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the rose 0.38%.

The best performers of the session on the were Transcontinental Inc (TSX:), which rose 8.84% or 1.18 points to trade at 14.53 at the close. Meanwhile, SSR Mining Inc (TSX:) added 6.36% or 0.43 points to end at 7.19 and Filo Mining Corp (TSX:) was up 5.34% or 1.25 points to 24.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Celestica Inc. (TSX:), which fell 6.95% or 5.36 points to trade at 71.80 at the close. Canada Goose Holdings Inc (TSX:) declined 3.68% or 0.72 points to end at 18.84 and Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX:) was down 3.30% or 0.13 points to 3.81.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Toronto Stock Exchange by 482 to 479 and 91 ended unchanged.
