Investing.com – Canada equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Toronto, the declined 1.15%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Aritzia Inc (TSX:), which rose 3.24% or 0.84 points to trade at 26.79 at the close. Parex Resources Inc (TSX:) added 2.28% or 0.56 points to end at 25.13 and Advantage Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX:) was up 2.01% or 0.17 points to 8.63 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:), which lost 7.49% or 0.67 points to trade at 8.28 in late trade. Cargojet Inc (TSX:) declined 7.40% or 8.61 points to end at 107.82 and Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:) shed 5.94% or 0.51 points to 8.07.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 636 to 349 and 105 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
