Investing.com – Canada equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were BRP Inc (TSX:), which rose 3.78% or 3.20 points to trade at 87.83 at the close. Nuvei Corp (TSX:) added 3.68% or 1.19 points to end at 33.51 and Celestica Inc. (TSX:) was up 3.01% or 1.46 points to 50.00 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:), which lost 7.99% or 0.45 points to trade at 5.18 in late trade. Ballard Power Systems Inc (TSX:) declined 6.61% or 0.29 points to end at 4.10 and Innergex Renewable Energy Inc . (TSX:) shed 6.41% or 0.58 points to 8.47.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 696 to 273 and 82 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
