Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Toronto, the added 0.85% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the were Fortuna Silver Mines Inc (TSX:), which rose 6.98% or 0.31 points to trade at 4.75 at the close. NovaGold Resources Inc (TSX:) added 6.50% or 0.23 points to end at 3.77 and SilverCrest Metals Inc (TSX:) was up 6.41% or 0.56 points to 9.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Boyd Group Income Fund (TSX:), which lost 8.54% or 26.88 points to trade at 288.03 in late trade. Definity Financial Corp (TSX:) declined 1.89% or 0.87 points to end at 45.24 and Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd (TSX:) shed 1.86% or 28.79 points to 1,520.15.
