Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the added 0.53%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were IAMGold Corporation (TSX:), which rose 15.11% or 0.47 points to trade at 3.58 at the close. Nuvei Corp (TSX:) added 6.84% or 2.11 points to end at 32.98 and HudBay Minerals Inc (TSX:) was up 6.71% or 0.47 points to 7.47 in late trade.

Biggest losers included BRP Inc (TSX:), which lost 4.29% or 4.06 points to trade at 90.49 in late trade. Celestica Inc. (TSX:) declined 3.38% or 1.44 points to end at 41.20 and Mattr Corp (TSX:) shed 3.23% or 0.52 points to 15.58.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 617 to 351 and 100 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
