Canada shares higher at close of trade; S&P/TSX Composite up 0.46% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Canada equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in Toronto, the added 0.46%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were Osisko Mining Corp (TSX:), which rose 4.90% or 0.15 points to trade at 3.21 at the close. SilverCrest Metals Inc (TSX:) added 4.52% or 0.47 points to end at 10.87 and SSR Mining Inc (TSX:) was up 3.82% or 0.27 points to 7.34 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Celestica Inc. (TSX:), which lost 7.14% or 4.31 points to trade at 56.03 in late trade. Africa Oil Corp (TSX:) declined 4.05% or 0.10 points to end at 2.37 and Altus Group Limited (TSX:) shed 3.21% or 1.65 points to 49.83.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 493 to 454 and 110 ended unchanged on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/TSX Composite options, was up 0.99% to 15.29 a new 3-month high.
